Why it works
The distinction that matters isn't calories or macros: it's food versus edible product. Michael Pollan compressed it into a seven-word rule — 'Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.' — and one uncomfortable observation: your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize much of a modern supermarket as food.
